Early mornings are precious to me- it's my favorite time of day for so many reasons. I take time for myself to go for a run, roll out my yoga mat, and take a minute to set an intention for the day. The house is calm before the morning rush, and I'd be lying if I didn't confess that look forward to coffee every.single.day. I also believe that my best ideas come to me when mind is clear and the sun is coming up- even more reason to get up and greet the day as early as the birds.
This morning I managed to time things just right, and I found myself with a few extra minutes after my run to sit and enjoy my coffee- I guess I was as excited as Webb was about the tooth fairy's first visit to our house! While enjoying my solitude, I came across an article highlighting the benefits of sending your child to a summer Yoga camp. Yoga is quickly becoming recognized as a path to wellness for the body and mind and as is the case with anything, starting at a young age builds the foundation for a lifelong practice.
I felt compelled to share this as I will be teaching a week long Yoga camp at Serenbe this summer. If you don’t know Serenbe, it’s a little oasis just a stones throw from Atlanta, where relaxation, wellness, and a slower pace are the way of life. The kids camp camp will be filled with poses and flows, breathing techniques, mindfulness activities, and engaging games. At Serenbe, outdoor activity abounds making it a perfect setting for some summer fun.
Enjoy this article from Yoga Journal outlining the benefits of a yoga practice from an early age, and if you are interested in your kids becoming healthy, confident, and grounded, I hope you can join me. Visit the Serenbe website or www.growinggrounded.org for details.
